ANTIFA: ITS VIOLENT NATURE AND AGENDA

“Ted, we are asking for the last time that you resign. If you ignore this message outright, the destruction to your precious way of life is going to escalate. Blood is already on your hands, Ted, but next time it may just be your own.” The video death threat to Mayor Ted Wheeler issued on April 28, 2021, from a white plastic-masked Antifa spokesperson, seems more like a B-rated dystopian movie than a credible threat to a leading political figure in the country.
But the very same video threatened not only Mayor Wheeler but also the entire political system of the United States which “must be abolished,” according to Antifa. These black-clad anarchists and their Black Lives Matter accomplices have acted on this threat by creating 1 to 2 billion dollars in property damage nationwide (the most expensive in insurance industry history), injuring thousands of police officers and citizens, and subverting and outright destroying many of our laws, monuments and national heritage sites, community safety structures, and institutions, particularly our universities where Antifa is not only tolerated but openly supported by faculty, administration, and “woke” students. Simply tolerating Antifa’s violence, threats, and subversion is not an option for a civilized society seeking security, prosperity, and opportunity at the local and national levels for the present generation of Americans and their posterity.
Antifa incites, directs, and systematically supports violence against the American public and public safety officers. Despite Antifa’s mask of being anti-fascist, anti-racist, and anti-oppression, it uses deceptive language to incite violence against the state and its citizens, using its twisted logic designed to mobilize the radicalized, the gullible, the inexperienced, the criminal, the mentally challenged, and the morally disabled. For instance, an Antifa “zine” (pamphlet) urges its readers: “Therefore, while it may sometimes even be necessary to set police on fire, this should not be done out of a spirit of vengeful self-righteousness, but from a place of care and compassion—if not for the police themselves, at least for all who would otherwise suffer at their hands.” (Crimethinc, “Seven Myths about the Police,” 2020).
Antifa is committed to violent uprising and manipulation of the current political unrest. Although Antifa claims to be a diverse unorganized movement of varied beliefs, it is the very opposite: a highly organized, decentralized network of violent anti-government extremists committed to “insurrectionist anarchism,” an objective creating a future where hate, crime, and violence rule just as it did during the Capitol Hill Occupied Protests (CHOP) of 2020. This perverted future embraces roving militants hunting down non-conformists, mob trials accusing the capitalist class, mass dislocation of society and redistribution of wealth occurring in an environment where violent gangs are embraced as “the community” (Crimethinc, “What Would an Anarchist Program Look Like,” November 2020). In fact, Antifa has implemented or supported aspects of this program in areas where it has gained temporary control or influence in occupied zones in Seattle, Minnesota, and Atlanta.
Antifa is expanding its organization, reach, and support structures foreshadowing further harm to local communities and national security. Antifa’s violence is not a passing fad, a reaction to current events, a product of any one area or leader. Rather, Antifa’s violence is rooted in its unmoral character, radical ideology, and criminal opportunism metastasized in a permissive culture and environment of like-minded politicians, media, lawyers, entertainers, social leaders, and even business leaders. Therefore, Antifa is able to increase its organizational growth, international coordination, targeting of police, business leaders, and politicians, and area penetration of smaller communities including towns and suburbs (Crimethinc, “Small Town Organizing for Anarchists,” 2020).
Not content with mere destructive activities, looting, and violent protests, Antifa is building a radical infrastructure to support future violence as a necessary component of its “protracted revolutionary process.” Accordingly, an Antifa pamphlet asserts: “As hundreds of thousands of people have poured into the streets, defying police orders and curfews, over 10,000 protesters have been arrested and many injured by police or right-wing vigilantes. Despite this, the movement has continued to grow, thanks in part to emerging social movement infrastructure including collectives providing health and medical support, pro-bono legal assistance, bail funds, and other forms of solidarity. Anarchists have participated on the front lines of these efforts, leveraging longstanding infrastructure, and drawing on decades of experience” (Crimethinc, “This is Anarchy: Eight Ways the Black Lives Matter and Justice for George Floyd Uprisings Reflect Anarchist Ideas in Action,” 2020).
No patriotic politician, social and community leader, responsible family member, or concerned citizen should passively accept Antifa’s violent agenda and activity. Expose its crimes and subversion by using churches, town hall meetings, and school contacts. Urge politicians to support local police and communities by passing community safety laws prosecuting Antifa’s violent action similar to the Anti-Riot Laws of Florida. Utilize social media to spread patriotic values promoting Constitutional order and community safety. After all, the future will belong to whatever side is more deeply committed.
