Increased activity at high-security detention facilities at Tibet has been reported. Satellite data measures night-time lighting uses and suggests a potential rise in “harsher imprisonments by Chinese authorities.”
- NASA satellite images from 2014-2022 which show more lighting patterns among recent years, may suggest longer detentions as seen in Xinjiang against Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities.
- Study released by non-profit RAND Europe research institute suggests increased activity at high-security detention facilities. There may be a “possible shift from low-level detention to longer-term imprisonment and detention” in the region.

Part 1
The closing dance at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was intended as a tribute to the peoples of the world, a ‘unique gathering of friends coming together to celebrate their differences and commonality.’ All different like snowflakes, but all equally targeted in China’s expressly professed dreams of world domination. John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ was played during this dance - “Imagine there's no countries... Nothing to kill or die for.” Really? Tell it to Tibet and Hong Kong. To China, ‘world peace’ means Communist rule under Han domination. [Who Are China’s Walking Dead?, an e-book about defectors from the CCP, p. 49]. Which brings us to our first story:
Xi the Conqueror goes to Tibet to protect the culture (pretzel logic only Marxists could love)
Nothing says ‘Protect the Culture’ like demolishing sacred ground: China tunnels into sacred Tibetan mountain in Sichuan
Potala Palace self-immolation protester identified as popular Tibetan singer
Erase the Culture
You Will Be Assimilated: Communist Party affirms drive to absorb Tibet into China through “patriotic reeducation”, erasing the culture, and destroying Tibetan national identity
Systematically stamping out the language plays a big part in assimilation drive:
China revokes grazing permits for Tibetan nomads in Qinghai province

Xi the Conqueror goes to Tibet to protect the culture (pretzel logic only Marxists could love)
- “Xi Jinping’s new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics is the guide for the whole party and all nationalities to fight for the great rejuvenation of China,” a sign in Lhasa proclaims in Tibetan and Chinese.... “The party is pressing a program to Sinicize Tibetan life through programs to separate Tibetans from their language, culture, and especially, their devotion to the Dalai Lama, Tibet’s traditional spiritual leader who has lived in exile since 1959.”
Nothing says ‘Protect the Culture’ like demolishing sacred ground: China tunnels into sacred Tibetan mountain in Sichuan
- “Asal Dzari mountain stands between two Tibetan regions China hopes to join by rail links.”
Potala Palace self-immolation protester identified as popular Tibetan singer
- “Tsewang Norbu is the 158th burning death in protests over harsh Chinese rule since 2009.”
- “Police inside keep an eye on monks day and night, says a source.”
- Kanter: “The cultural genocide in Tibet is so startling that more than 150 Tibetan people have burned themselves alive, hoping that such a horrific act of sacrifice will raise awareness and attention towards the ongoing abuses within Tibet. After learning all of this. I cannot stay silent.”

Repression
Tibetan government-in-exile issues report - “Tibet: 70 Years of Occupation and Oppression”
- China has maintained its rule in Tibet only by establishing “an oppressive regime that uses force and the instillment of fear among the people”
The pen is mightier than the sword:
- Prominent Tibetan writer confirmed detained after year-long disappearance
- Tibetan writer missing more than a year after his arrest
- Tibetan writer released from prison in China after serving 13 years
- Tibetan writer given 10-year prison term in secret trial
- China might have some prosperity now, but they don’t have this:
6th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution - “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial....”
- China might have some prosperity now, but they don’t have this:
Chinese authorities sentence Tibetan student to 3 years for contacting exiles
Tibetan nomads sent to labor camps for politically sensitive material on cell phones
Han Chinese now hold most government posts in Tibet as Beijing extends control
- China doesn’t have this, either: Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution - “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government....”
- Communism purports to have ‘democracy’ because the communist party is the voice of the people. See how this works?
Chinese Imperialism
- CCP colonizers exploit Tibet as a dumping ground for toxic waste
- CCP officials in Tibet seizing land for development projects
China squelched 2008 uprising in Tibet with widespread shootings and arrests
